Parle Biscuits, maker of Parle-G, Monaco, KrackJack, Hide & Seek, and Melody, has appointed George Kovoor as its first-ever Chief Executive Officer.
Kovoor joins after more than three decades at PepsiCo, where he held roles across India, China, the Asia-Pacific region, and global operations, including SVP & GM for India Beverages and SVP for Global Foodservice Customers.
He began his career at Brooke Bond India, a Unilever company, before moving to PepsiCo, where his assignments included franchise operations, sales leadership across Greater China, and international and global foodservice operations at the company’s New York headquarters. He most recently founded Ask GeKo Advisory LLP, a strategic advisory practice for consumer goods and food and beverage companies.
Founded in 1929 in Vile Parle, Mumbai, Parle Biscuits operates a distribution network spanning more than 7.5 million retail outlets across India, with Parle-G counted among the world’s highest-selling biscuit brands by volume. The appointment comes as the company looks to strengthen its leadership amid intensifying competition in India’s packaged food market and expand its presence in international markets.
“We welcome George and look forward to working closely with him to build on Parle’s strong foundation, strengthen our capabilities and open new opportunities for sustainable growth,” said Ajay Chauhan, Managing Director, Parle Biscuits. “As our business continues to evolve with the changing needs of Indian consumers, his ability to drive results, develop talent and navigate complex markets will be invaluable.”
