Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited has appointed Upasana Kamineni Konidela as Director – Projects, tasking her with overseeing the company’s INR 8,600-crore expansion across India. The programme includes both greenfield projects, building new hospitals from the ground up, and brownfield upgrades to existing facilities, with approximately INR 1,565 crore allocated to the latter.
In her new role, Konidela will work with Apollo’s leadership, clinical teams and project partners to oversee the planning and execution of hospital projects nationwide. Her responsibilities include developing new hospitals, expanding and upgrading existing facilities, and maintaining consistent, patient-focused design standards across Apollo’s network, with priorities including clearer signage and more efficient clinical spaces. The expansion will strengthen Apollo’s presence in major urban centres including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, while extending into emerging markets such as Lucknow and Varanasi.
Konidela is the granddaughter of Apollo Hospitals founder Dr. Prathap C. Reddy and has previously been associated with the group’s CSR activities. Apollo Hospitals, founded in 1983 and headquartered in Chennai, reported revenue of INR 25,228 crore for FY26.
