Vinay Singh, co-founder and partner at Fireside Ventures, is stepping down from the firm after nearly a decade. In a statement, Fireside said Singh would “transition out of the firm.” The consumer-focused fund has not named a successor.
The exit follows a wave of senior fund managers leaving established VC firms to start their own funds. Earlier this year, Ashish Agrawal, Ishaan Mittal, and Tejeshwi Sharma left Peak XV Partners to set up Mettle Capital, and L Catterton partner Anjana Sasidharan left in March to start Asthrum Capital.
“As AI reshapes commerce faster than most of us expected, I want to spend more time exploring the frontiers of agentic commerce and its implications for the future of consumption,” said Vinay Singh. “I am excited for this next chapter, and deeply grateful to the Fireside family, and to every founder and LP who trusted us on this journey.”
Singh studied at IIM Bangalore and previously worked at Hindustan Unilever and Bankbazaar. He co-founded car servicing platform Stepni, which Quikr later acquired. In 2017, he co-founded Fireside Ventures with Kanwaljit Singh, Kannan Sitaram, and Dipanjan Basu.
Fireside has invested in more than 65 startups and manages over USD 650 million across four funds. It closed its fourth fund at about USD 253 million in December 2025. The firm has 12 principals and vice presidents.
