Sanjeev Bikhchandani to Take Over as Info Edge Group CEO

Info Edge, the parent company of Naukri.com, has said founder and vice chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani will take over as executive vice chairman, managing director and group CEO from December 3, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.

He succeeds Hitesh Oberoi, who will step down as MD and CEO at the close of business on December 2, ending nearly 27 years in a full-time executive role. Oberoi joined Info Edge as COO and director in 2000 and has been MD and CEO for over 16 years. He is stepping back to devote more time to education, entrepreneurship, institution building, investing and philanthropy.

His resignation letter is dated October 27. He will stay on the board as a non-executive, non-independent director from December 3, subject to shareholder approval.

Oberoi said the company is ready for the transition. He cited Naukri’s AI strategy now feeding revenue-generating products, 99acres becoming cash-generating, and Jeevansathi and Aisle turning profitable. During his tenure as CEO, Info Edge’s market capitalisation rose from about USD 2,500 crore (USD 263 million) to USD 80,000 crore (USD 8.4 billion).

Bikhchandani had handed the CEO role to Oberoi in 2010 and moved to the position of Founder and Executive Vice Chairman. He was reappointed executive vice chairman and whole-time director effective April 27, 2026.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani said: “The first priority will be to give internal people an opportunity to grow.”

The announcement came with Q2 FY27 results. Consolidated net profit rose 87% year-on-year to INR 649.8 crore (USD 68.4 million) from INR 347.5 crore. Revenue from operations grew 12.2% to INR 903.9 crore (USD 95.1 million), and other income rose 164.8% to INR 428.4 crore (USD 45.1 million). The board declared an interim dividend of INR 3 per share, with a record date of November 6. Info Edge shares ended 1.23% lower at INR 1,205 on the BSE.
