Lightspeed exits PhysicsWallah via INR 550 Crore block deal on NSE; ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund is the largest buyer.

Lightspeed Venture Partners has exited its shareholding in edtech company PhysicsWallah through an INR 550 crore block deal on the NSE.

Lightspeed, through Lightspeed Opportunity Fund II, sold its entire holding of 4,66,98,120 shares, representing a 1.61% stake, at INR 117.72 apiece, in a deal worth INR 549.73 crore. The fund held the stake at the end of June 2026 and exited it in full.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund was the largest buyer, acquiring 2.2 crore shares worth INR 258.98 crore. Other buyers included Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius, Viridian Asia Opportunities Master Fund, multiple Goldman Sachs entities, Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore, New York State Teachers Retirement System, Societe Generale, and Tata AIA Life Insurance.

The transaction was priced at a discount to PhysicsWallah’s previous close of INR 121.35. The stock gained as much as 5% during the session and closed at INR 126.13 on the NSE, giving the company a market capitalization of INR 36,754 crore.

PhysicsWallah reported a 24% year-on-year rise in revenue to INR 1,054 crore in Q1 FY27, while its consolidated net loss narrowed 31% to INR 88 crore from INR 127 crore a year earlier. EBITDA turned positive at INR 52 crore, compared with a loss of INR 21 crore in Q1 FY26.
