Although a new vertical, the CEO is already head on, leading strategic integrations enabling Astral’s entry into the paints segment and supporting the expansion of the company’s international footprint.
“My vision is to build Astral’s chemicals division into a globally respected performance-materials company — one that combines Indian scale with global quality and innovation. As CEO, my role is to ensure that every vertical operates with clarity, accountability, and long-term purpose, while staying unified under the ‘One Astral’ philosophy. We are not chasing growth alone; we are building a strong, future-ready institution with people, innovation, and execution at its core,” says Saumya Engineer.
For him, FY 2026-27 is a year of consolidation followed by calibrated acceleration. In India, the company will deepen penetration in adhesives and construction chemicals, strengthen southern and rural markets, and scale the paints business through disciplined geographic expansion. Internationally, it aims to accelerate integration across our UK and US operations, align product pipelines, and leverage India as a global manufacturing and innovation hub to drive scalable growth. “Expansion will be guided by readiness, profitability, and execution strength – not speed alone,” he says.
Astral Chemicals’ moat lies in the integration of three strengths: strong in-house R&D, a diversified yet synergistic product portfolio, and deep distribution and channel relationships. “This is reinforced by our digital backbone, manufacturing scale, and a culture that values ownership and execution. There are very few companies in our space that can combine chemistry, brand trust, and operational depth the way we do,” he quips.
The CEO is carrying forward Astral’s legacy by staying true to its founding principles — trust, performance, and integrity — while evolving for the future.
“The next phase is about institutionalising processes, strengthening leadership depth, and ensuring that growth is sustainable, responsible, and repeatable,” he explains.
From a pioneering polymer piping company into one of India’s diversified building materials organisations, Astral’s foundation lies in performance, reliability, and customer-focused innovation which has guided expansion across verticals.
