Troovy, an Indian better-for-you snack brand, has raised Rs.100 crore in a Series B funding round led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Sharrp Ventures and other investors.

Founded by Mansi Baranwal and Aditya Mukherjee, the company plans to use the capital to expand research and development (R&D), increase manufacturing capacity, strengthen distribution across quick-commerce and offline channels, and launch new products.

The latest funding follows a period of strong growth. According to Ankita Balotia, principal at Fireside Ventures, Troovy grew fivefold in the eight months following the investor’s previous investment, prompting it to increase its backing. The brand has expanded its portfolio from snacks to cookies and milk mixes.

Troovy was founded to address the gap between snacks that appeal to children and products parents consider healthier. Before launching, the founders consulted more than 100 mothers and their children through discussions, recipe development and product tastings. The initiative has since grown into a community of more than 10,000 parents and children.

Its product portfolio includes vacuum-cooked potato chips containing 10-12% oil, compared with the 35-40% cited by the company for mainstream chips, along with vegetable- and millet-based chips, clean-label ketchup and seasonings. The brand focuses on reducing refined sugar and oil while avoiding palm oil, maida, preservatives and synthetic additives.

“This backing is a vote of confidence in a model most food companies don’t use: building with the people who’ll actually eat what you make,” said Aditya Mukherjee, co-founder and chief business officer of Troovy, highlighting the role of consumer feedback in product development.

Co-founder and CEO Mansi Baranwal said “parents and children had been involved in the product development process from the beginning, helping the company refine ingredients and flavours based on their feedback.”

With the latest funding, Troovy aims to expand its product range and reach more families across India, building on its community-led approach to developing snacks that balance taste and nutrition.
