D2C consumer appliance startup Atomberg has received board approval to raise up to INR 450 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The approval was granted at an extraordinary general meeting held on August 12, according to regulatory filings.
The proposed IPO will comprise a fresh issue of equity shares and an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders, subject to market conditions and regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Atomberg’s board has also approved a pre-IPO placement of up to INR 90 crore. Any funds raised through the pre-IPO round will be adjusted against the fresh issue component of the IPO.
The company recently converted into a public entity as part of its listing plans. It had earlier sought to raise INR 40 crore through a secondary funding round led by Forj Capital.
Founded in 2012 by IIT Bombay alumni Manoj Meena and Sibabrata Das, Atomberg initially focused on energy-efficient BLDC fans before entering the consumer market in 2016. It has since expanded into products including mixer grinders and water purifiers, while fans remain its largest revenue contributor.
Atomberg sells through its website, ecommerce platforms including Amazon and Flipkart, and offline channels. The startup has raised around USD 126.5 million from investors including Inflexor Ventures, Trifecta Capital Advisors, Steadview Capital, Temasek Holdings and Jungle Ventures.
In FY25, Atomberg reduced its net loss by 41% to INR 117 crore, while operating revenue rose over 20% to INR 958.4 crore. Its expenses increased 9% to INR 1,118.3 crore. The company has not yet disclosed its FY26 financial results.
