IBM and Yotta Data Services have announced plans to form a strategic partnership aimed at delivering an agentic artificial intelligence (AI) platform for enterprises and government organisations in India.
The proposed platform will be built using IBM’s watsonx Orchestrate and hosted on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud. The collaboration is designed to help organisations scale AI adoption while addressing growing requirements around data security, regulatory compliance, and data residency.
The platform is expected to enable enterprises to manage AI-driven workflows across areas such as IT service management, human resources, finance, procurement, and customer support.
As part of the initiative, the two companies also plan to bring IBM Sovereign Core to India through Yotta’s Shakti Cloud. The platform is intended to help organisations build and operate AI-ready environments with built-in governance, compliance monitoring, and control mechanisms.
“AI innovation in India must be anchored in sovereignty, security, and performance. Together with IBM, we propose to enable enterprises to harness the power of agentic AI on a secure, India-hosted cloud,” said Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO of Yotta Data Services.
IBM Sovereign Core is designed to support digital sovereignty across multiple layers, including operations, data, technology, and AI systems. It integrates capabilities such as identity management, encryption, compliance tracking, and governed AI execution within a single framework.
By hosting this offering on an India-based infrastructure, the partnership aims to support organisations in meeting local regulatory requirements while maintaining operational control and transparency.
“Indian enterprises are increasingly focused on operationalising AI in a way that is secure, governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations,” said Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia. “This collaboration will combine IBM’s AI capabilities with Yotta’s sovereign cloud infrastructure to help organisations scale AI responsibly.”
The companies also plan to collaborate on go-to-market initiatives, including solution development and pilot projects, targeting sectors such as banking, financial services, manufacturing, public sector, and digital-native businesses.
