Prabhjeet Singh, former President of Uber India and South Asia, has joined OpenAI as Managing Director for India. He will lead the company’s consumer and enterprise business, partnerships, regulatory engagement, and overall operations, reporting to Kiran Mani, Managing Director for Asia Pacific.
OpenAI said Singh’s mandate includes expanding strategic partnerships, supporting the country’s AI ecosystem, and accelerating AI adoption across businesses, institutions, and the public sector.
“India has the talent, entrepreneurial energy and ambition. Few markets offer this combination of scale and possibility,” Singh said in a LinkedIn post announcing the move. “But India should not only benefit from the future of AI. India should help build it. And what gets built here should shape how AI is used everywhere.”
