PhysicsWallah School of Startups (PW SoS), the entrepreneurship wing of PhysicsWallah, has signed a two-year MoU with Startup India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The partnership aims to accelerate grassroots entrepreneurship, deep-tech innovation and venture incubation across Tier-II and Tier-III cities and rural India, targeting 25,000 early-stage startups.
“Supporting entrepreneurs beyond Tier-I cities is key to building a stronger startup ecosystem in India,” said Ateesh Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The initiative combines structured online and residential training, prototyping guidance, incubation infrastructure, investor access and seed capital. PW SoS is introducing several programmes:
- PW UDYAMI: a 90-day live online training programme with one year of mentorship for entrepreneurs from small towns and rural areas.
- Aarambh Immersion: a five-day residential programme on prototype development, pitch preparation and networking.
- Growth Stage CEO Program: support for 200 DPIIT-recognised startups across four hybrid cohorts, preparing them for growth funding.
- PW DeepTech Accelerator: a six-month programme giving selected ventures access to rapid growth and funding.
Early-stage innovators will also get proof-of-concept opportunities, corporate pilots and seed investment through the annual National AI Startup Challenge and SeedX, plus incubation support and seed grants at the StartinUP Business Incubation Centre hosted by PW SoS, which is an accredited incubator under the Uttar Pradesh government’s StartInUP initiative.
“True empowerment means making knowledge, mentorship and funding accessible to aspiring entrepreneurs across Bharat,” said Rounaq Mustafa, Head, PW School of Startups.
