People Movement: Srijon Biswas is New PhonePe CTO; Story TV Gets Yash Raj Films’ Manan Mehta

PhonePe on Wednesday announced the appointment of Srijon Biswas as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his new role, Biswas will lead PhonePe’s engineering organization, and continue to report to Rahul Chari, cofounder of PhonePe.

Before the promotion, Biswas led engineering across multiple teams at PhonePe since joining the company in 2017. Previously, he has worked with Browserstack and Flipkart among others.

“As PhonePe continues to expand and grow, strengthening our technology leadership is a natural step. Srijon’s appointment ensures we continue to invest deeply in engineering excellence while building the technology platforms that will power the future of digital India”, Rahul Chari, cofounder at PhonePe, said in a statement.

Microdrama firm Story TV, which has 100 million users, has roped in Yash Raj Films’ Manan Mehta as SVP – Content and Strategy. 

Manan Mehta brings over 20 years of experience across Business Strategy, Marketing and Content thought leadership, with experience across agencies and companies including Leo Burnett, Taproot, and Razorfish, followed by a significant 11+ years tenure at Yash Raj Films, one of India’s most premium film studios.

At Yash Raj Films, Mehta worked closely with Aditya Chopra and played a key role in strengthening the studio’s brand and content marketing engine, helping position Yash Raj Films as one of India’s  premium film studios. He led marketing and content strategy for over 26 films that collectively grossed Rs 5,200 crore approximately at the global box office, according to a press note.
