Vyoma.AI, Larsen & Toubro’s AI cloud and hyperscale data centre business, has begun construction of a 52 MW AI-ready green data centre in Chennai, marked by a groundbreaking (Bhoomi Pujan) ceremony. The facility is meant to support high-density AI computing for hyperscalers, neocloud providers and AI companies, and to meet growing demand for cloud computing, AI workloads and data localisation.

It is part of L&T’s planned gigawatt-scale AI Factory campus in Chennai, which already houses advanced AI compute clusters in an operational 30 MW facility and is supported by 150 MVA of power infrastructure readiness. The new facility will use direct-to-chip liquid cooling to manage heat from high-density computing, along with renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.

Vyoma.AI is targeting more than 250 MW of data centre capacity across India. It offers sovereign cloud services, GPU-as-a-Service and hyperscale colocation. It did not disclose the investment planned for the Chennai facility or its expected completion date.

“As AI adoption accelerates, the data centre is being designed to deliver the performance, scalability and resilience required for next-generation workloads while advancing sustainable, low-carbon digital infrastructure,” said Prashant Chiranjive Jain, Managing Director, Vyoma.AI.
