Inkle, an AI-powered CPA and bookkeeping firm for US companies, has acquired the bookkeeping division of Finally, a financial operations platform for small businesses. The deal was structured as an all-cash asset purchase. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition brings about 100 Finally team members in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Miami, Boca Raton and New York into Inkle, taking it to around 160 people across five countries. Finally’s bookkeeping clients will continue working with the same teams, now on Inkle’s platform.
The deal extends Inkle beyond venture-backed startups to non-tech small businesses such as owner-operators, professional services firms, contractors, clinics and restaurants.
Founded in 2022 by Anand Krishna and Ranvir Singh, Inkle is headquartered in San Francisco, with a 60-member product and engineering team in Bengaluru. It pairs a US-licensed CPA practice with software and AI built in India, including Inkle Books, its general ledger, and a tax and compliance platform.
Inkle helps hundreds of companies incorporate in the US every year, many of them Indian-founded startups setting up Delaware C-Corps. It then manages their federal returns, Delaware franchise tax and cross-border filings such as Form 5472 and FBAR. It is also the cross-border compliance partner for Stripe Atlas for Indian founders.
The company cites a growing shortage of CPAs and bookkeepers in the US. Accounting degrees awarded fell 6.6% to 55,152 in 2023–24, according to the AICPA’s 2025 Trends Report.
Inkle is profitable on $1.5 million (~₹14 crore) in pre-seed funding from Picus Capital, Saison Capital and Force Ventures. Its software is free, and it charges only for AI-backed bookkeeping, tax and compliance services, delivered on Inkle Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books or Mercury Books.
Anand Krishna, Co-founder and CEO, Inkle, said: “Inkle is an American company that serves American small businesses, and it’s built in Bengaluru. That combination is our edge: U.S. CPAs who own the outcome, and an engineering team in India building the software and AI that let them serve far more businesses, far better, than a traditional firm.”
