Online auto marketplace Cars24 is witnessing a series of senior-level exits, with co-founder Gajendra Jangid becoming the latest to step back from an operational role, as per Entrackr media reports. His decision follows recent departures of key executives, indicating changes in the company’s leadership structure.
In an internal message shared with employees on Slack, Jangid confirmed he would step away from day-to-day responsibilities after more than a decade with the company. “There’s no perfect moment to step back. But there comes a time when you realise the company no longer depends on you to keep moving forward. For me, that moment is now,” he said.
Group CEO and co-founder Vikram Chopra acknowledged Jangid’s contributions, stating, “Gajju built the brand, gave us Crashfree, and made marketing that people actually remembered. The talent he found and backed, the doors he opened for TeamBHP and CarInfo, that is his work.”
According to media platform Entrackr, a Cars24 spokesperson said that Jangid will remain associated with Cars24. “Gajju is still with Cars24… he is stepping back from day-to-day operations to take a personal break. He has created a strong team of leaders to handle the regular running of the business,” the spokesperson said, adding that he will continue contributing to the brand and broader mission.
The development comes shortly after Himanshu Ratnoo stepped down as CEO of Cars24’s India used car business, and Ankit Bhalla exited his role as director of engineering.
These changes come as the company prepares for a potential public listing. Earlier this year, Chopra said Cars24 is targeting an IPO within 6–12 months, though reports suggest possible delays.
