Former Goldman Sachs Managing Director Sandeep Dhar has launched GCC Foundry, an institution focused on developing enterprise leaders for India’s growing Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem.

It has opened applications for its first Fellowship in AI-Native Enterprise Leadership, a six-month programme for 60 senior professionals with 10–20 years of experience.

The Fellowship has been developed with 80+ GCC leaders from companies including Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Tesco, Walmart Global Tech, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Target, Bosch, Shell and Mercedes-Benz.

The programme will run across 24 weekends, with fellows working in groups of six under the guidance of senior GCC practitioners. The curriculum covers GCC leadership, AI fluency and executive presence.

Participants will work on investment cases, build-versus-buy decisions, capability design and mandate pitches. The programme also includes GCC centre visits, in-person sessions and an annual gathering of fellows, alumni and GCC leaders.

India has 2,117 GCCs across 3,728 units, employing around 2.36 million professionals. GCC Foundry estimates that India currently has about 6,500 GCC leadership positions, with the number expected to exceed 30,000 by 2030.

The programme is aimed at professionals preparing for roles such as Centre Head, Global Functional Head, Head of AI, Platform or Data, and founding leadership positions for new GCCs.

“Global Capability Centres are no longer just delivery engines. They are increasingly where global enterprises build products, make strategic decisions, own platforms and run entire businesses,” said Sandeep Dhar, Co-founder and Dean, GCC Foundry.

Dhar has three decades of experience across the GCC ecosystem, including leadership roles at Citibank, Tesco HSC and Goldman Sachs. He has also worked on GCC practices at Wipro and Capgemini.

The first cohort is scheduled to begin in December 2026.
