Balaji Telefilms and YouTube have entered a strategic partnership to launch a slate of five original shows, spanning 200 episodes, on YouTube. The shows will be produced in 4K and designed for digital-first viewers globally.
Under the arrangement, Ekta Kapoor will lead the creative vision and own the intellectual property, while YouTube will provide global distribution and monetisation through ads and brand deals. The slate includes returning titles Haq Se Season 2 and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 4, alongside new show Phir Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani Suno and other projects in development.
YouTube reached over 75 million people in India aged 18+ on Connected TV in April 2025 and holds the top reach across CTV screens in India among media platforms as of May 2025, according to ComScore. Multiple originals under the partnership are set to roll out this festive season.
“As more viewers turn to YouTube to discover and engage with content, it presents an exciting opportunity to connect with audiences in the most innovative ways,” said Ekta Kapoor, Joint MD, Balaji Telefilms.
“With Ekta Kapoor and her extraordinary instinct for human emotion and creative storytelling, we’re making that future possible today on YouTube,” said Gunjan Soni, Managing Director, India, YouTube.
