Dream Sports has shut down its fintech foray, Dream Money, in less than a year of the launch.
The platform has also notified its users about the shutdown. On its website, a message reads:
“We wish to inform you that “Dream Money” is discontinuing its business operations, including its Gold, Mutual Fund Distribution, Fixed Deposit, and Lending services, with immediate effect. The Dream Money app will be accessible until 30th July 2026, for you to view your statements, holdings, and account details. After this date, the Dream Money platform will cease to be operational.”
Dream Sports did not respond to our request for a statement.
Following the announcement, Dream Money has stopped accepting new customer registrations, investments, and loan applications. Users, however, can make withdrawals from their existing investments. It is also cancelling all active recurring SIPs on the Dream Money platform, with effect from July 7, 2026.

“Please note that this does not affect your existing investments in any way. All your investments are safe and will continue to be held by our respective partners. Please refer to the relevant sections below for further details. A summary of your investments made via Dream Money shall remain visible under the Transaction Summary section on the platform until 30th July, 2026,” the message added.
The shutdown comes shortly after Dream Sports shut down Dream Play, a sports-focused analytics firm.
Dream Sports, which operated the now defunct Dream11, has been on the receiving end for some time. Last year, the Indian government imposed a ban on all real-money games, making platforms like Dream 11, last valued around USD 8 billion, redundant.
Dream Sports CEO Harsh Jain last year said that the ban on real-money gaming had wiped out 95% of the company’s revenue and profits overnight.
Another set back came in the form of the recent Supreme Court ruling which turned down challenges to retrospective tax demands of nearly INR 2.5 lakh crore and also maintained the 28% GST on such platforms.
