Spacetech startup SatLeo Labs has raised USD 2.2 million in a seed funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures, bringing its total funding to USD 5.5 million.
Other participants in the round include Merak Ventures, Java Capital, IIMA-CIIE, and investor Manish Gandhi.
The startup plans to use the fresh funds to advance its thermal satellite mission and expand its artificial intelligence-powered platform for thermal intelligence applications.
Founded by Shravan Bhati, SatLeo Labs develops satellite-based systems that capture both thermal and visible data from low Earth orbit.
Its technology is aimed at supporting sectors such as defence, agriculture, urban planning, and climate monitoring. The startup has developed its first thermal payload, TAPAS-1, and is preparing it for integration into a satellite.
SatLeo has also begun pilot projects, including urban heat and air pollution monitoring initiatives in cities like Ahmedabad and Tumakuru.
The startup has grown its team to about 30 employees and is building a commercial pipeline with letters of intent worth over USD 42 million. It will now focus on launch readiness and expansion.
