Former Peak XV Partners Executives Plan USD 250 Mn Fund with Ambition Capital

Former executives of Peak XV Partners are reportedly launching a new venture capital firm, Ambition Capital, with plans to raise USD 250 million for early-stage investments.

According to a report by The Economic Times, the fund is being set up by Shailesh Lakhani and Harshjit Sethi, both former managing directors at Peak XV, along with Mayank Porwal, who was also previously associated with the firm.

Based in Bengaluru, Ambition Capital plans to invest in seed and Series A startups across sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, deeptech, and consumer technology.

The firm is expected to make around 26 to 30 investments from the fund.

The fund will focus on themes like digital sovereignty and India-focused innovation, backing startups building solutions for both domestic and global markets.

Lakhani brings over 17 years of investing experience at Peak XV, where he backed companies including Minimalist, Ixigo, and Zetwerk.

Separately, other former Peak XV executives, including Ashish Agrawal, Ishaan Mittal, and Tejeshwi Sharma, are also planning to launch a new venture fund. Earlier, former leaders of Sequoia Capital India launched A91 Partners in 2018.
