Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Best Buy have announced an agreement to transition Best Buy’s Global Capability Center (GCC) in India to TCS, combining the GCC’s retail and enterprise knowledge with TCS’s technology, engineering and AI capabilities.
As part of the agreement, the Best Buy India entity will transition to TCS, ensuring business continuity while beginning its transformation into an AI-native Capability Center (AICC) under a multi-year agreement. Using TCS’s Global Value & Innovation Centres framework, teams will redesign workflows, develop AI-powered experiences and solutions, and scale capabilities across the business over time.
TCS will bring Best Buy India employees into its global organization, aiming to preserve existing business and technology knowledge while giving them access to TCS’s learning ecosystem, AI skills development and global opportunities. The deal adds to TCS’s broader GCC transition business, spanning the build-out and scaling of capability centers through to their transformation into AI-led innovation engines.
“Best Buy has built a strong technology organization with deep knowledge of its customers and business. By bringing that talent together with TCS’ retail expertise, AI, engineering and global execution capabilities, we will create an AI-native capability engine that aligns Best Buy’s priorities,” said Krishnan Ramanujam, President, Consumer Business Group, TCS.
“Our India team has played an important role in advancing Best Buy’s priorities, and we wanted a partner that understood both the business context and the value of this team. TCS brings that understanding, along with the technology and AI capabilities to build on the team’s strengths and meaningful opportunities for employees to continue learning and growing in their careers,” said Ahrey Smith, Vice President of Technology Strategy and Transformation, Best Buy.
