National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) has fixed the price band for its initial public offering at INR 1,700 to INR 1,785 per equity share of face value INR 1 each. The IPO will open for subscription on September 17, 2026, and close on September 21, 2026, with anchor investor bidding on September 16. Investors can bid for a minimum of 8 equity shares and in multiples of 8 thereafter.
The offer is entirely an offer-for-sale of up to 126,436,650 equity shares by corporate selling shareholders, including State Bank of India, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Aranda Investments (Mauritius), MS Strategic (Mauritius), New India Assurance Company, SBI Capital Markets, Bank of Baroda, Stock Holding Corporation of India, General Insurance Corporation of India, and United India Insurance Company. NSE currently has 2,475,000,000 equity shares outstanding.
The issue will follow the book-building process under SEBI ICDR Regulations, with up to 50% reserved for Qualified Institutional Buyers, at least 15% for Non-Institutional Investors, and at least 35% for Retail Individual Investors. The equity shares are proposed to be listed on BSE.
NSE, which began operations in 1994, reported revenue from operations of INR 4,560 crore for the June 2026 quarter, up from INR 4,032 crore a year earlier, with net profit of INR 3,121 crore compared to INR 2,811 crore in the same period last year. As of June 30, 2026, the exchange supported 26.14 crore registered investor accounts, 13.24 crore Unique Registered Investors, 1,328 trading members and 3,005 listed entities with a combined market capitalisation of INR 474.08 trillion. Total fund mobilisation through its platform stood at INR 20.33 trillion in Fiscal 2026 and INR 6.19 trillion in the June 2026 quarter.
According to the Redseer Report, NSE held market shares of 92.99% in cash market turnover, 99.79% in equity futures turnover, and 74.71% in equity options premium turnover for Fiscal 2026. The World Federation of Exchanges ranked NSE third globally in the equity segment by number of trades in 2025, while the Futures Industry Association ranked it the world’s largest derivatives exchange by trading volume for the same year.
Kotak Mahindra Capital, JM Financial, Morgan Stanley India, Citi Global Markets India, HSBC Securities & Capital Markets India, and JP Morgan India are among the book-running lead managers for the issue. MUFG Intime India is the registrar.
