Actor Huma Qureshi has launched Freefall, a saree brand created in partnership with Indian handloom label Dressfolk. The collection is built around a central idea of designing for the woman rather than the occasion.

Freefall brings together handwoven textiles from Chanderi, Varanasi and Kutch, with each saree made in collaboration with master artisans and taking more than 50 hours to complete. The collection draws on Huma Qureshi’s personal relationship with the saree, combined with Dressfolk’s experience working with India’s weaving communities.

For Dressfolk, the collaboration extends its broader approach to Indian handloom, positioning traditional weaving techniques within a contemporary design context aimed at everyday wear rather than only occasion wear.

“The saree has always represented something much deeper than occasion or tradition. It carries history, craft and individuality, and yet it has the ability to feel completely personal. With Freefall, I wanted to explore that space where heritage meets the way we live today,” said Huma Qureshi.
