GreenCell Mobility, an Eversource Capital portfolio company and India’s largest OEM-agnostic electric bus platform, has received a INR 330 crore equity investment from Impact Fund Denmark (IFDK). The capital will support the rollout of about 4,500 electric buses. With this, GreenCell will operate more than 5,000 e-buses across 105 cities.
GreenCell operates in the Electric Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) segment, running electric buses across both intra-city and intercity routes, and is developing charging infrastructure and enabling solutions for the e-mobility value chain. Eversource Capital, IFC, BII and Tata Capital are among its existing investors.
“We have established a strong presence across both intra-city and intercity transportation, with the operating experience to manage increasingly large and complex deployment. Our focus is on executing our order book with rigour… This equity investment gives us greater headroom to accelerate our plans while maintaining the standards of reliability, efficiency and customer experience that are fundamental to our business,” said Devndra Chawla, MD and CEO, GreenCell Mobility.
