August Energy, a Singapore-headquartered energy-as-a-service infrastructure platform, and Energeia, an Indian energy efficiency company, have announced a USD 100 million partnership called August Energeia. The venture will fund and deliver energy efficiency infrastructure projects, with a focus on cooling as a service, for commercial and industrial customers across India.

The partnership combines August Energy’s capital and business development strengths with Energeia’s energy audit, engineering, and sales capabilities. August Energeia brings capital from institutional investors including Aravest, Green Tower, Proparco, responsAbility, and Aseem, along with Energeia’s IoT-based energy audit and AI-enabled management technology.

Under the model, factories and commercial buildings can upgrade infrastructure across cooling, heating, steam, compressed air, fuel switching, and motor-driven systems, along with renewable energy deployment across solar, wind, and storage, without upfront investment. August Energeia will finance, implement, and manage the infrastructure, with project economics tied to performance and savings delivered.

The platform will target energy-intensive sectors including pharmaceuticals, automotive, food and beverage, chemicals, cement, steel, hospitality, healthcare, data centres, REITs, and commercial real estate.

“India’s next phase of industrial growth will require businesses to become more energy-efficient and resilient without diverting capital away from their core operations,” said Vishal Jain, Co-founder and Head of India, August Energy. “This partnership with Energeia brings that model to scale.”
