Finvolve, a multi-stage venture capital platform, has announced the first close of its latest fund at INR 90 crore, part of a target corpus of INR 250 crore. The firm has also retained a greenshoe option to accommodate additional commitments beyond the initial close, citing strong investor response.
The fund will invest in growth and late-stage startups over the next three to four years, targeting a portfolio of approximately 30-35 companies across four focus areas: Defence & Aerospace, Frontier & Strategic Technology, Energy, and Consumer. It will back company with demonstrated product-market fit and growth potential, aligning with sectors where technology shifts and India’s expanding strategic capabilities are creating venture-scale opportunities.
Finvolve’s existing portfolio includes IG Defence, Indrajaal, Soket AI, Kepler Aerospace and Matter EV, among others. While these investments pre-date the new fund, they reflect the sectors where the firm has built investment conviction, and it continues to see a strong pipeline across deeptech, defence, aerospace and frontier technology.
The new fund adds to Finvolve’s platform of four other active funds. Its previous Category II fund, focused on pre-IPO companies, has completed its investment cycle and is fully deployed. The final close of the new fund is expected within the next six months, after which deployment will continue across its identified sectors.
“From a capital perspective, we see a compelling opportunity to participate in companies that have already crossed the early-risk phase and are now entering their next stage of value creation. The INR 90 crore first close gives us the ability to build a diversified portfolio across growth and late-stage opportunities, while maintaining a disciplined approach to entry valuations, deployment and follow-on capital,” said Apoorva Vora, Co-Founder, Finvolve.
