Global investment firm KKR has announced the final closing of KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V (Fund V) at USD 19.2 billion, making it the firm’s largest infrastructure fund raised to date. The fund will invest in critical infrastructure assets and businesses, primarily across North America and Western Europe. The Fund V takes KKR’s total capital raised across its latest infrastructure fund vintages globally to more than USD 45 billion.
The fund has already committed more than USD 9 billion across investments including Altitude III, EDF Power Solutions North America, Enilive, FiberCop, Global Technical Realty, Gulf Data Hub, MetroNet, Sempra Infrastructure, and The Parking Spot. KKR said the fund will focus on infrastructure assets that provide essential services, have high barriers to entry and generate resilient long-term cash flows.
KKR’s infrastructure business, launched in 2008, now manages approximately USD 120 billion in infrastructure equity, up from USD 13 billion in 2019. The platform has completed more than 100 infrastructure investments and committed over USD 70 billion of equity across infrastructure investments in North America and Europe.
“Fund V marks an important milestone in that journey. It reflects the trust our investors have placed in our team, the strength of the global platform we’ve built together, and our conviction that the opportunity in infrastructure has never been greater,” said Raj Agrawal, Global Head of Real Assets at KKR.
The fund received commitments from a global investor base including pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, asset managers, private wealth platforms and family offices.
“We believe this result speaks to our differentiated investment approach and the growing recognition of infrastructure as an essential long-term allocation,” said Brandon Donnenfeld, Managing Director and Chief Development Officer for KKR’s infrastructure business.
