CHOSEN, a Chennai-based dermocosmetic brand, has extended its Series A round with investment from Avnish Chhabria and Saurabh Kapoor, the founders of Wellbeing Nutrition. They join existing investors Fireside Ventures, which led the round, BOLD (L’Oréal’s corporate venture capital fund), Alkemi Growth Capital, angel investor Avnish Anand and a group of practising dermatologists. The amount raised in the extension was not disclosed. In May 2026, CHOSEN raised a INR 5 million Series A.
“Our investors’ trust will empower us to focus on what matters most: deeper research and a bigger role for dermatologists in how we develop our products,” said Dr Renita Rajan, Founder, CHOSEN.
The funds will go toward R&D and expanding its formulation pipeline across topicals and nutraceuticals, backed by clinical validation, with a focus on four domains of ageing in Indian skin: pigmentation, texture, contour and hair. CHOSEN will also set up a Centre of Excellence that brings dermatologists into product development and research, and will grow its R&D, brand and growth teams.
The products are sold on its website, Amazon, Myntra, Swiggy, FirstClub and Distacart, and ship to most serviceable pin codes in India and to markets including the US, UK, Australia, Canada, UAE and Singapore.
“I invested in CHOSEN because Renita pairs deep sunscreen expertise with a clear ambition: to build a globally respected skincare brand from India,” said Avnish Chhabria, Founder, Wellbeing Nutrition.
