The Indian Superbike League (ISBL) has appointed actor-entrepreneur John Abraham as Strategic Advisor and launched a promo film introducing the league. ISBL describes the film as the first major expression of its identity as a property combining motorsport, entertainment and pop culture.
Sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), ISBL will run as a franchise-based championship with two Pro categories, plus Amateur, Female Riders and Rookie classes. The league aims to create a structured competitive environment for riders and open opportunities across teams, technical personnel, brands and creators. Details on teams, riders, race formats and venues will be announced later.
Avi Jain, Managing Director of Dhuleva Group, is the anchor investor, and Pranav Bakre is CEO. The release did not disclose the investment amount or a start date for the first season.
“Being a sports team owner has also taught me what it takes to turn belief into sustained commitment. I want to help young Indian riders get the opportunities they deserve and share the thrill of motorcycle racing with a whole new generation of fans. It’s time to Get India Racing,” said John Abraham, Strategic Advisor, Indian Superbike League.
“With ISBL, our ambition is to build a premium, commercially sustainable league that fans return to and partners want to grow with, season after season,” said Avi Jain, Managing Director, Dhuleva Group, and Anchor Investor, ISBL.
