Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has closed its Series C round at INR 1,750 crore (approximately USD 180 million), entirely in equity. The round was led by Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office, along with founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar and co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta, with participation from Bengaluru-based HNI Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office. This is the company’s largest round to date and the third largest among Indian electric two-wheeler OEMs, following a INR 250 crore round in June 2026.
The capital will support a new manufacturing facility, production ramp-up, hiring, network expansion and R&D for the company’s next product cycle. Simple Energy currently operates at a production capacity of 10,000 units per month and ranks among India’s top 10 electric two-wheeler manufacturers by monthly sales, with its Simple One and Simple Wave models driving growth.
The company operates over 80 outlets across 60-plus cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad and Chennai, and has launched two new products, Simple Wave and Simple Ultra, within the last eight months.
Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar, with Shreshth Mishra and Ankit Gupta as co-founders, Simple Energy develops its chassis, battery, motor and software in-house, and was the first Indian OEM to commercially produce heavy rare-earth-free motors and offer a lifetime warranty on motor and battery.
“This is a defining moment for Simple Energy. Over the past few years, we have built our core technology, products, manufacturing capabilities, and retail network in-house. This round gives us the capital to scale that foundation,” said Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy.
