MakeMyTrip has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Flamingo Transworld for an undisclosed amount, as part of its efforts to strengthen its holiday packages business.
Founded more than three decades ago, Flamingo Transworld offers group tour services and has established a presence in regional markets such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The company sells domestic and international group travel packages through a network of 51 offices across these states.
Flamingo is known for curated group tours that include regional-language tour managers and Indian meal options for travellers. The integration is expected to complement MakeMyTrip’s existing holiday packages portfolio and expand its reach in regional travel markets.
