Whatfix Co-founder and CEO Khadim Batti Passes Away
Whatfix co-founder and CEO Khadim Batti has passed away after a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving India’s SaaS community in mourning.

Khadim Batti, co-founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based enterprise software company Whatfix, passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest.
“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the unexpected passing of our beloved co-founder and CEO, Khadim Batti, who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest today,” Whatfix said in a statement, describing him as a visionary leader whose passion and conviction shaped the company and the people who worked with him. The company requested that the media and public respect the privacy of Batti’s family during this time.
Batti began his entrepreneurial journey in 2010. Before founding Whatfix, he served as Delivery Head for DPI & BI Solutions at Huawei Technologies India and later co-founded and led SearchEnabler as CEO.
He co-founded Whatfix with Vara Kumar Namburu in 2014, building it from an interactive guidance tool into a global digital adoption platform that provides in-app guidance, training, and analytics for enterprise software users. Under his leadership, the company grew to serve more than 700 enterprises, including over 100 Fortune 1000 companies, with more than 800 employees across offices in the US, India, the UK, Germany, and Australia.
Whatfix has raised more than USD 140 million from investors including SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Sequoia, Cisco Investments, and Dragoneer, and was valued at around USD 900 million following a USD 125 million funding round in 2024.
Beyond Whatfix, Batti was an active figure in India’s SaaS and AI communities. He served on the governing council of SaaSBoomi and was among the founding members of AIBoomi, a community focused on India’s AI-first product ecosystem.
“Khadim has been such an important part of our AIBoomi community and of the larger SaaS and AI ecosystem in India. Someone many of us have known over the years, shared rooms and conversations with, learnt from, and deeply respected,” said Avinash Raghava, CEO and founding volunteer, SaaSBoomi. “Beyond everything he built, I will remember Khadim for the person he was.”
Batti is survived by his family. Whatfix said it would continue to carry forward his vision as tributes poured in from founders and peers across India’s startup ecosystem.
