Ultraviolette has raised USD 85 million in a new funding round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International, who also joins the company as an advisor, alongside existing long-term investors.
The funding follows Ultraviolette’s announcement of a new manufacturing facility with capacity to scale production up to 500,000 units annually. The capital will go toward scaling production of its current F77 and X-47 electric motorcycles and upcoming products Tesseract and Shockwave, alongside development of its next-generation global EV platforms, which build on the company’s vertically integrated capabilities across battery technology, power electronics, vehicle architecture and software.
Ultraviolette currently retails in India and 20 European countries and is targeting entry into the United States in 2027, alongside expansion into Latin America and Southeast Asia. The company has built technical capabilities spanning battery architectures from 48V to 400V, positioning it as one of the few global EV manufacturers with in-house technology across this range.
Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette is backed by investors including Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motors and Speciale Invest. It was the first Indian electric manufacturer to secure European certification for its motorcycles.
“This funding round represents an important step in Ultraviolette’s evolution into a global electric mobility company. This investment will enable us to scale manufacturing, accelerate the development of our future product platforms and deepen our presence across international markets,” said Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Founders, Ultraviolette.
