NuSynth Technologies, an R&D-led process innovation platform for complex chemistry co-founded by Poorvank Purohit, former managing director and CEO of Solara Active Pharma Sciences, who serves as its CEO, has raised INR 36.5 crore (about USD 4 million) in seed funding co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.

NuSynth helps companies redesign chemical synthesis by assessing raw materials, reaction pathways and production economics.

The company is initially targeting pharmaceutical and electronics chemicals and aims to build its own portfolio of proprietary process technologies, rather than only improving existing production methods. The funds will go toward R&D and technology capabilities, an initial portfolio of proprietary processes, scale-up capabilities and team expansion.

“We believe this approach will improve the economics, resource efficiency and resilience of chemical manufacturing across critical sectors, while creating globally competitive technology platforms from India,” said Shruti Srivastava, Partner, Avaana Capital.

“What excites us about NuSynth is how they are using AI to make chemical R&D faster and more efficient,” said Avijeet Alagathi, Managing Partner, Shastra VC.
