US-based finance agentic company Numero AI has acquired Chennai-headquartered finance automation firm Royu in a cash-and-stock deal, marking a step toward expanding its capabilities in AI-driven finance operations. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Royu’s Co-founders Viswajith Vishwaa and Sathya Gunasekaran will join Numero’s leadership team. Viswajith will take on the role of Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, while Sathya will serve as Chief Technology Officer. The broader Royu team will also be integrated into Numero.
The combined entity aims to build an agentic system of work for enterprise finance functions, enabling organizations to move away from manual processes. “This acquisition represents more than bringing two teams together — it brings together deep finance domain expertise, enterprise-grade engineering, and a shared conviction that the future of finance operations will be AI-native,” said Karthik Ramamoorthy, Co-founder and CEO of Numero AI.
He added that finance teams are under increasing pressure to operate efficiently while maintaining accuracy and compliance. “Together with Royu, we are accelerating our vision of building an agentic system of work for the Office of the CFO,” Ramamoorthy said.
Numero’s platform supports a range of finance activities, including accounting operations, reconciliation, reporting, and order-to-cash processes. The integration with Royu is expected to strengthen its technology capabilities and expand its product roadmap.
Viswajith Vishwaa said the alignment in long-term vision led to the deal. “Finance teams are looking for more than productivity tools — they need intelligent systems that can operate across complex workflows with context, control, and reliability,” he said.
Numero currently works with global enterprises and partners with accounting advisory firms, and the acquisition is expected to support further development of AI tools tailored for finance and accounting teams.
