Jagdish Farshan Pvt Ltd, the Gujarat-born namkeen, sweets, and snacks brand founded in 1938, has raised INR 43.5 crore in Series A funding led by Sharrp Ventures, the investment office of Harsh Mariwala, Founder and Chairman of Marico Limited, along with a group of angel investors. This marks the company’s first institutional capital raise.
The company operates 27 retail outlets across central Gujarat, along with two outlets in North America. The funds will go toward geographic expansion, manufacturing and supply-chain capacity, retail and institutional distribution, and digital commerce, alongside continued expansion of its product portfolio across snacks, namkeen, and sweets.
Founded in 1938, Jagdish Farshan has built a portfolio of over 500 products and SKUs, supported by manufacturing capabilities and a distribution network across retail and institutional channels. Karnametic Partners LLP acted as exclusive investment banker to the transaction, while Badaya Law Partners served as legal counsel.
“This fundraise is about building Jagdish Farshan for the next 100 years,” said Aakash Kandoi, CEO, Jagdish Farshan Pvt Ltd. “We are now at a point where we can take what we have built in Gujarat and scale it across the country, without compromising on the qualities that have made the brand relevant for generations.”
“Jagdish Farshan combines decades of consumer trust and product heritage with the opportunity to build a much larger organised food business,” said Divya Gupta, Principal, Sharrp Ventures. “We believe Gujarati snacks and farsan is a category with significant headroom for growth.”
