India and the US are entering a key phase in their economic partnership, with bilateral investment rising twelve-fold from USD 20 billion to USD 240 billion over the past two decades, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) National Convention 2026.

Gor said the two countries had reached new highs in bilateral trade and were positioned to expand economic cooperation. He also highlighted the US market as an opportunity for Indian businesses looking to expand globally.

Gor stated that the US Embassy would continue to support greater commercial engagement between the two countries, adding that decisions taken over the next few years would shape India-US relations for decades.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called for the growing strategic alignment to translate into investments, technology partnerships, manufacturing and jobs.

“Maharashtra is a $660 billion economy, growing at about 10.2% CAGR for last seven years. About 69% of our youth is 27 years of age and roughly 50% is in K-12. If Maharashtra was a country, it would probably be in the top 20 countries in the world by its sheer economic promise. We are developing a 165-acre Medicity next to our airport, with the Cleveland Clinic having signed with us to become an anchor hospital in the venture,” Fadnavis said.

The convention, themed Redefining the India-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focused on trade, investment, technology, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, cybersecurity and supply chains.

IACC National President Anup Acharya said the partnership had expanded beyond diplomacy and trade, with cooperation growing across defence, energy, education, technology and innovation.

The discussions also covered semiconductors, space, critical minerals, clean energy, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.

Uttar Pradesh also presented its investment and export opportunities at the convention. Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Exports, highlighted the state’s focus on religious tourism, aviation connectivity and export infrastructure.

The day-long convention featured sessions on pharmaceuticals, healthcare and life sciences; investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh; AI infrastructure and cyber defence; critical minerals and technology supply chains; and women-led enterprise.

Senior representatives from AT&T, Wipro, Medtronic India, JB Pharma, P.D. Hinduja Hospital, JSW Group, Tata International and Orient Technologies participated in the discussions.

The event was also attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Advisor Awanish Awasthi and Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics Alok Kumar. During the inaugural session, Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis and US Ambassador Sergio Gor felicitated former IACC presidents and office-bearers. The chamber was established in 1968.
