Foodstories, a community-driven curated food platform, has raised INR 50 crore from Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath.
Founded by Ashni Biyani and Avni Biyani, daughters of Future Group CEO and founder Kishore Biyani, Foodstories brings together farmers, producers, chefs, bakers and food makers at one platform.
Foodstories says the fresh capital is set to help accelerate its digital business and delivery network alongside retail footprint.
“Better food is one of the highest-leverage changes a person can make to how they live,” said Nikhil Kamath. “Foodstories is one of the few platforms building the real infrastructure for that. The founders understand both the product and the business they’re building.”
Foodstories has a retail presence across Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The company now plans to expand its retail presence in Mumbai with a flagship store in Bandra open now, and a second one opening in Lokhandwala soon.
“We’re building a INR 1,000 crore business,” said Ashni Biyani.“Curation, experiential retail and a strong digital layer. That combination is what gives us conviction in the scale of what’s possible here.”
“We obsess over quality, craftsmanship and provenance. Growth doesn’t change that,” Avni Biyani added.
