Apple Pay Officially Launched in India
Apple Pay launches in India, starting with Axis Bank credit cards on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Apple Pay has launched in India, available for users across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with support for Mac coming soon. The service lets customers pay in stores, in apps and on the web without entering PINs or OTPs at checkout. Customers with Axis Bank-issued Visa and Mastercard credit cards can add their cards to Apple Pay and use them at thousands of in-stores and online merchants across India, as well as anywhere accepting NFC transactions.
Cards can be added directly through the Axis Bank app or via the Wallet app on iPhone. Apple Pay does not store actual card numbers on the device or Apple’s servers; instead, a unique, encrypted Device Account Number is stored in the device’s Secure Element. Apple does not retain transaction information tied to individual users.

At launch, Apple Pay will be accepted at millions of merchants across India, including Apple Store locations, Blinkit, Chaayos, Comet, Croma, Interflora, Ixigo, Le15 Patisserie, Reliance brands, Tata 1mg and Zomato. Apple has worked with payment service providers including Cashfree, JusPay, Mswipe, Paytm, PayU, Pine Labs, Razorpay and Worldline to extend Apple Pay across their merchant networks. Apple Pay is now available in more than 90 countries and regions, working with over 11,000 bank and network partners worldwide.
