D2C footwear brand Chupps Footwear has brought on cricketer Ajinkya Rahane as an equity investor and strategic advisor as part of its pre-Series B funding round.
The brand did not disclose the investment amount, adding that existing investors also participated.
The funds will be used to support product innovation, expand offline retail presence, and strengthen brand visibility.
Founded in 2020 by Yashesh Mukhi, Chupps focuses on open footwear designed for comfort. Rahane, who was previously a customer of the brand, will now work closely with the founding team on product development. This includes recovery-focused footwear and improvements to its ERGO Charge technology.
Chupps has developed an omnichannel presence through its website, online marketplaces such as Myntra and Amazon, and offline stores in key markets. The company has also been expanding its footprint internationally, including in the UAE.
Earlier, the brand partnered with Indian Premier League teams such as Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians as part of its marketing efforts.
