UP Startup Mission Portal and Startup Policy 2026 Launched

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the Uttar Pradesh Startup Mission portal and unveiled the Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026, aimed at strengthening the state’s startup ecosystem.
The Uttar Pradesh Startup Mission has been approved as an autonomous body, replacing UP Electronics Corporation Ltd. as the nodal agency for startup implementation, headed by the Chief Secretary. Under the policy, selected startups can receive a monthly sustenance allowance of INR 20,000 for two years, prototype grants have been doubled to INR 10 lakh, and annual cloud service reimbursement of up to INR 2 lakh has been introduced.
The policy includes special provisions for women entrepreneurs, economically weaker sections, persons with disabilities, transgender entrepreneurs, and startups in the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand regions.
At the launch, Adityanath said the state now has more than 24,000 startups, including eight unicorns, up from around 120 before 2017. Incentives worth more than INR 3.42 crore were distributed to 107 startups, and nine incubators received incentives worth INR 1.79 crore.
The government has also supported startup initiatives linked to institutions including IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU, and IIITs.
