Lenskart Investors Sell Over USD 1 Bn Stake in Three Months

Lenskart investors have sold over USD 1 billion in shares in three months, including SoftBank’s latest $300 million stake sale.

SoftBank has sold another 4.5 crore shares of eyewear retailer Lenskart for around INR 2,888 crore (over USD 300 million) through a block deal, marking its second major stake sale in the company since June.

The shares were sold at INR 641.75 apiece. SoftBank held 17.14 crore Lenskart shares, representing a 9.69 percent stake, as of July. Following the latest transaction, its holding has declined to around 12.64 crore shares, or about 7.15 percent.

In June, SoftBank sold around 5.65 crore Lenskart shares for approximately INR 2,873 crore at INR 508.55 apiece.

Other early investors have also reduced their holdings. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority sold shares worth around INR 1,960 crore in June, while Temasek offloaded shares worth around INR 1,940 crore in July.

Together, the four transactions have resulted in institutional investors selling Lenskart shares worth around INR 9,660 crore, or more than USD 1 billion, since June.

Lenskart made its stock market debut in November 2025. The latest block deal saw participation from institutional investors including Societe Generale, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, Sundaram Mutual Fund, and global funds.

In Q1 FY27, Lenskart reported a 43 percent year-on-year increase in revenue to INR 2,714 crore. Profit stood at INR 228 crore.

The company closed its latest trading session at INR 658.75, giving it a market capitalisation of around INR 1.14 lakh crore.
