Beauty brand Typsy Beauty raised INR 20 crore in a funding round led by Saama Capital. The round also saw participation from Sanjay Kapoor, founder of Genesis Luxury; Tanaaz Bhatia, Founder and CEO of Bottomline Media.; SRF Limited Group; and the family offices of Havells and Eicher Motors.
Founded in 2022 by Kairavi Bharat Ram, Typsy Beauty offers products across lips, eyes, face and fragrance. The company said it will use the fresh capital to expand its distribution network, strengthen its presence in quick commerce and offline retail, enter the skincare category with hybrid skincare-makeup products, and grow its fragrance business with plans to launch more than 10 new products in the coming months.
“Typsy started because I couldn’t find an Indian brand that made me feel the way my favourite international products did. We set out to change that not by cutting corners on formulation, but by partnering with the best labs in the world and bringing those products to India at prices that don’t shut people out. This funding lets us do that across more categories and for many more consumers.” said Kairavi Bharat Ram, Founder of Typsy Beauty.
Typsy stated that their products are developed through international manufacturing partners that also work with beauty brands such as Rare Beauty, Tarte and Rhode. The portfolio includes Foundcealer, Twist & Pout and Pout Cloud.
“We’ve built a business with strong fundamentals, healthy contribution margins and a repeatable growth playbook across eight marketplaces. This investment gives us the resources to accelerate into new categories and wider distribution while maintaining the discipline that got us here.” said Shashank Tibrewal, Co-Founder of Typsy Beauty.
