Arboreal Bio innovations raised INR 230 crore in Series A funding to expand manufacturing and R&D for specialty ingredients.

Arboreal Bio innovations, a specialty food and nutraceutical ingredients tech company, has raised INR 230 crore in a Series A funding round co-led by EAAA, the alternatives arm of Edelweiss, and Omnivore. Existing investor Rainmatter by Zerodha also participated in the round. 

The company said the funding is among the largest Series A raises in India’s specialty food ingredients sector. The capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen research and development (R&D) capabilities, and accelerate the commercialization of its next-generation functional ingredients.

Arboreal develops specialty ingredients for the food, beverage and nutraceutical industries. Its technology platform integrates ingredient engineering, process R&D, formulation science and precision manufacturing to develop products tailored to the nutritional, functional and sensory requirements of Indian consumers and brands.

The company has commercialized proprietary ingredients across categories including next-generation proteins, cocoa-based ingredients, natural zero-calorie sweeteners and functional fibres. 

The company stated, their ingredient solutions supported more than 300 product launches across over 1,100 consumer brands and nutraceutical manufacturers during the past 18 months.
