Quest Global, an engineering services company, has announced the acquisition of BITSILICA, an India-based semiconductor design services firm, in a move aimed at strengthening its semiconductor portfolio and expanding its global capabilities.
The acquisition is expected to enhance Quest Global’s ability to support semiconductor customers worldwide while advancing its strategy to build integrated capabilities spanning concept, silicon, and software. The company said the deal will also help scale its operations and deliver more comprehensive engineering solutions.
Founded in 2019, BITSILICA specialises in ASIC design, design verification, physical design, design for test (DFT), and embedded software. The company employs over 500 engineers across locations in India, including Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as Singapore and Malaysia. Its client base includes global semiconductor and technology firms operating in areas such as mobile, computing, FPGA, wireless, memory, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
With a strong focus on design verification, BITSILICA is expected to significantly boost Quest Global’s capabilities in functional and formal verification, gate-level simulation, power-aware verification, validation, and emulation. These capabilities are particularly relevant for addressing complex engineering requirements in sectors such as automotive semiconductors.
Quest Global noted that BITSILICA’s services will complement its existing strengths in engineering solutions, especially in semiconductor and embedded systems design. The combined expertise is expected to improve delivery quality in IP, subsystem, and system-on-chip (SoC) development.
BITSILICA will also gain access to Quest Global’s experience of over 25 years in engineering and its global network spanning more than 18 countries and 90 delivery centres. The company employs over 22,000 people worldwide.
The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in the semiconductor services sector as companies seek to expand capabilities and address growing demand for advanced chip design and development.
