AI-martech startup Nitro Commerce has acquired Zodiac Labs AI to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly expanding quick commerce ecosystem and accelerate the rollout of an AI-driven growth platform for consumer brands.

Following the acquisition, the company will introduce “Zodiac by Nitro,” an AI copilot designed to help brands manage and scale their presence across quick commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart. The platform uses autonomous AI agents to track thousands of SKUs, monitor competitors and optimise demand at a pin-code level in real time.

Quick commerce has emerged as a major growth channel for direct-to-consumer brands, contributing nearly 40–50 percent of incremental revenue for many companies. However, brands—especially small and mid-sized businesses—often struggle to understand stock availability across locations, identify inefficient advertising spends, or analyse why competing products outperform them in the same neighbourhood.

The new platform aims to address this gap by enabling automated decision-making rather than relying solely on traditional analytics dashboards. The AI system converts fragmented operational signals into actions such as reallocating advertising budgets, alerting teams about stock replenishment, and suggesting pricing or discount changes.

“Speed is the new currency of Indian commerce. While brands struggle with the cost of scaling, Zodiac by Nitro provides them with an AI copilot that makes exponential growth possible,” said Umair Mohammed, founder and chief executive of Nitro Commerce. “It has autonomous AI agents that do 90 percent of the heavy lifting, allowing brands to stay ahead in the quick commerce race.”

According to Nikhil Garg, Co-founder and CTO at Zodiac Labs AI, the complexity of quick commerce operations often overwhelms brand teams. “Inventory, ad spends, discounts and competitor pricing change every minute across hundreds of dark stores. Brands are dealing with thousands of SKUs across multiple warehouses, which leads to analysis paralysis,” he said. “By joining forces with Nitro Commerce, we can scale our agentic AI model to move beyond dashboards and deliver real outcomes.”

The acquisition comes after Nitro Commerce recently raised USD 5 million in funding and reported ten-fold revenue growth with USD 5 million in annual recurring revenue. The company has also partnered with GetVantage on an INR 100 crore embedded capital programme to support brand expansion.

As quick commerce expands beyond groceries into electronics, fashion and appliances, Nitro Commerce is positioning AI-driven automation as a key tool for brands seeking to scale across India’s fast-growing dark store economy.
